WASHING DISHES AT THIS TIME SAVES MONEY

Washing Dishes

After breakfast, do you quickly turn on the dishwasher – or would you rather wait until after dinner? That means of course if you are already finished playing BetAmo Casino. If you turn on the dishwasher at the right time, you can save a lot of electricity and, above all, money!

Admittedly, life without a dishwasher – that is hard for us to imagine, too. After all, the clever kitchen appliance does the dishes for us in the blink of an eye. Probably one of the most unpleasant household chores! It is just a shame that the dishwasher, of all things, consumes so much electricity.

MORNING VS EVENING

When it comes to dishwashers, opinions differ. Some turn it on right after breakfast so they can empty it out after work. Others let the machine run overnight so that they can enjoy clean dishes first thing in the morning. But which of these is right? Because actually: There is a method with which you can save electricity and money!

This is the best time to turn on the dishwasher.

Who would have thought! The best time to wash dishes is actually at night. If you turn on your dishwasher before you go to bed, you are taking advantage of arguably the most energy-efficient and budget-friendly time of day. Because less electricity is used at night than during the day, nighttime electricity is much less expensive – and that applies especially to electricity purchased between 10 p.m. in the evening and 6 a.m. in the morning.

IS THE SHORT PROGRAM A REAL WIN?

To save even more electricity and money, you should definitely do without the short program when cleaning. The dishes get cleaned faster, but the appliance requires significantly more energy. Instead, opt for the economical Eco program. However, there is a small catch if you run your dishwasher at night. And you should not ignore it under any circumstances:

Keep in mind that in an apartment building and depending on the type of building it can quickly become noisy if the dishwasher runs at night. The same applies to the washing machine, by the way. So it is best to address this with your neighbor beforehand to avoid conflicts.

To be able to get night-time electricity, you must have either a dual-rate meter day and night or two separate electricity meters in your house. This is the only way to ensure that you can actually use night-time electricity via your chosen provider. But beware: night-time electricity is only worthwhile for you if you draw at least 60 percent of your electricity at off-peak times. For example, because you have night storage heating, a heat pump, or an electric car. So it is not just a matter of getting off-peak electricity.
